Friendship is a natural
gift for all the beings. It can be happened with anyone, anywhere though there
are differences of the nation, race, color and the age. There are two types of
friends in the society. Society has labeled them as good and bad. In pursue of
the Buddhism, good friendship leads to the eternal rest. But the evil friends
just expand the samsara as long as they can but good friendship is hard to
find. Unity is the strength of a society. The youth contribution for the unity
is very important. Young feelings are very complex and they are sensational.
Good friendship is very valuable to use their thoughts for wholesome deeds.
Cheating, betraying, quarrel are not applicable to spread the unity. The Buddhist
sutras such as Singalovada, Vyagapajja, Mittanisamsa, Parabhava, Vasala, etc are
some major canonical teachings which show the value of friendship and how can
gain the unity. I have taken Pali canon to show the unity through the
friendship. Further, this is expected to be discussed that, the influence of
the friendship for the society and how the friendship leads for the harmony.
Key words = Friendship,
Pali Canon, Unity, Buddhism, Youth
